To work out the details we need to know the car's weight, weight distribution, CGH, wheel base, tire sizes o rubber friction coefficient, all caliper piston areas, brake pads, disc dimensions and A Few more things like downforce and its distribution. The main problem concerns the rear brakes which may not be locked before the front wheels. The system is obviously heavy pedal and does not really fit street cars, about 50-75 kg pedal to lock the wheels. This means that if we have the front cylinders with a total piston area of 10000mm^2 and a brake pedal ratio of 6:1 to become a master cylinder area of 300mm^2 quite right. I suggest an total pedal to pad ratio of about 200:1 for a manual system. I've been advised to choose a different size for the front and rear even with the bias adjuster.Īlso how do u choose the correct clutch master cylinder size? I'm after a bit of travel and feeling on the pedal if that makes any difference if anyone can recommend any sizes? The car is using the large prodrive / alcon 4 pots up front with the smaller wilwood 4 pots on the rear. Is there a rule of thumb for choosing the correct sizes? I'm looking at the short type master cylinders due to the floor space, but i've no real pref between tilton / ap / alcon / brembo etc etc I'm installing a tilton pedal box into my impreza, but i'm baffled by all the choice of master cylinder sizes.
